About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated C++ Developer to join our team in Manchester, working onsite. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing, maintaining, and enhancing sophisticated security and intelligence products tailored for national security applications. Your expertise in C++ and Linux development will be crucial in building high-performance, reliable software solutions that meet the demanding requirements of our international clients. Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in software development with a focus on C++. Proven experience with modern C++ standards, performance optimization, and concurrency techniques is essential. You should have detailed knowledge of Linux-based development environments, including build systems, compilers, kernels, and device drivers. Familiarity with computer networking protocols such as TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, DHCP, and tunneling protocols like GTP, MPLS, and L2TP is required. Additional skills in languages such as Ruby, Python, Puppet, and Bash will be advantageous. Experience working within Agile Scrum teams and using related tools like Jira is highly desirable. Candidates must demonstrate excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve system issues remotely. A proactive attitude, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team are essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities

As a C++ Developer at Hackajob Ltd, your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance software components for national security products.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements, implement solutions, and ensure code quality through rigorous testing and code reviews.
  • Participating in Agile ceremonies, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives, and supporting the integration of third-party and open-source software libraries.
  • Troubleshooting and debugging complex issues, providing technical support for deployed systems, and documenting technical specifications.
  • Opportunities to travel internationally for system deployment, end-user engagement, and support, enabling you to gain practical insights and enhance product capabilities.
