C# Developer - Hybrid Role
We're looking to add a C# Developer to our team here at Mentor, on a hybrid basis, working out of our Huddersfield office. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, reliable, and efficient solutions using Microsoft technologies. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to writing clean, maintainable code.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain applications using C# and the.NET framework/.NET Core.
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following industry best practices.
- Collaborate with business analysts, designers, and other developers to understand requirements and deliver technical solutions.
- Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and third-party services.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software defects and performance issues.
- Create and execute unit and integration tests to ensure software quality.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of development standards.
- Maintain and optimise SQL Server databases, including writing queries, stored procedures, and performance tuning.
- Support deployment activities and monitor applications in production.
- Stay up to date with emerging technologies and recommend improvements to existing systems.
Required Skills and Experience
- Strong experience developing applications using C# and.NET/.NET Core.
- Solid understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) principles and design patterns.
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and database development.
- Knowledge of REST APIs, JSON, and web services.
- Experience with Git or other version control systems.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Desirable Skills
- Experience with ASP.NET MVC, ASP.NET Core, or Blazor.
- Knowledge of Entity Framework or Entity Framework Core.
- Experience with Azure cloud services.
- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, or CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with JavaScript frameworks such as Angular or React.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent commercial experience.
- Relevant Microsoft certifications are advantageous but not essential.
