Wealth Management - 6-12 month contract - £500-550/day umbrella
We are partnering with a leading global firm to hire a dedicated C#/.NET Backend Developer for a critical 6-month contract.
We are seeking a pure software engineer with deep, hands-on expertise in backend C# engineering and SQL database performance tuning from any industry background.
The business is currently accelerating a major backend integration programme to connect core internal systems with external platforms. They need a specialist who has deep experience in server-side C# code, RESTful APIs, and database engineering.
Key Responsibilities:
- Focus on backend architecture while building and optimising high-throughput integration pipelines and core services.
- Design, build, and consume production-grade RESTful APIs and microservices to facilitate seamless data flows.
- Execute complex database engineering tasks in SQL Server (T-SQL), including query optimization, index tuning, and writing complex stored procedures.
- Ensure all backend code is resilient, test-driven, and deployed via modern CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps.
- Work closely with engineering leads to unblock complex backend logic and meet strict project delivery milestones.

Your Profile & Tech Stack:
- You have strong, hands-on commercial experience working as a dedicated C#/.NET Backend Software Engineer.
- You bring advanced proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server, specifically with T-SQL query performance tuning, indexing, and execution plan optimization.
- You hold a proven track record of building production-grade Web APIs and working with RESTful microservices.
- You possess solid experience with automated testing, Git, and CI/CD deployment pipelines in Azure DevOps.
- You are highly autonomous, comfortable diving straight into complex backend codebases, and focused purely on writing clean, scalable code.
