Software Engineer - £70,000 – C++ Developer
Searchability | Enfield, North London | Permanent | £70,000
Searchability is hiring for a Senior Software Engineer to join an established engineering team working on technically complex, innovative software products. This role will take ownership of software development from initial specification and design through implementation, testing, verification, and ongoing maintenance.
The Role
- Design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality software.
- Take software projects through the full development lifecycle.
- Develop new software while supporting and enhancing existing products.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers.
- Work closely with customers, suppliers, and technical stakeholders.
- Contribute to software specifications, architecture, and engineering decisions.
- Ensure software is thoroughly tested and verified.

What We're Looking For
- Excellent C++ experience.
- Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Experience delivering software from specification through to verification.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Visual Studio 2022/2026.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Relevant technical/engineering degree.

Desirable
- GUI / UX / HCI development experience.
- Python and/or PowerShell scripting.
- Experience mentoring or supporting less experienced engineers.
