About The Role

We are seeking an experienced Lead C# Developer / Engineer to join our client's team in Reigate, with the flexibility of working from home. In this senior, hands-on leadership position, you will play a pivotal role in managing multiple agile teams responsible for a high-traffic desktop insurance platform that processes four billion requests monthly. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically skilled professional looking to advance their career by leading complex, scalable systems within a global fintech organization. Your expertise in C#.NET desktop application development will be instrumental in architecting, designing, and implementing new features, ensuring the platform's security, reliability, and performance are maintained at the highest standards.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in C# .NET Core desktop application development, particularly within large-scale, complex systems.
  • Strong technical leadership skills, with a focus on ownership of features and technical decision-making.
  • Experience working in Agile environments, managing or collaborating with multiple development teams.
  • Solid understanding of modern Microsoft software engineering best practices, including clean code, reusability, and maintainability.
  • Knowledge of event-driven architecture and scalable system design.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor three Agile development teams, fostering a collaborative and innovative working environment.
  • Architect, design, and develop new features and system enhancements for the flagship desktop insurance platform.
  • Ensure the platform maintains high levels of security, reliability, usability, and performance.
  • Collaborate closely with the Product Owner and other stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Make informed technical decisions, providing ownership and accountability for the quality of deliverables.
  • Participate in code reviews, enforce coding standards, and promote best practices across the teams.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and incorporate new technologies and methodologies to improve system architecture and development processes.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including automation, testing, and deployment strategies.
  • Support the onboarding and training of team members, fostering professional growth and development.

  • The successful candidate will enjoy a competitive salary of up to £100,000 plus an annual bonus of approximately 20%.
  • The role offers a hybrid working model, allowing you to work from home three days a week, with the remaining two days in the Reigate office for team meet-ups and stakeholder engagement.
