Role: C++ Engineer
Location: London
Total Comp: Up to £600k split between base and bonus

Our client, a global leading tech trading firm, is seeking an exceptional C++ Engineer to join its core trading technology team. This is a rare opportunity to work at the heart of a world-class technology environment where speed, resilience, and precision are critical.
The successful candidate will help build and scale the systems underpinning execution and market data across a global trading platform. This role will suit an engineer who enjoys solving hard technical problems close to the metal, cares about performance at every level, and wants real ownership in a demanding environment where technical excellence is the standard.

Key responsibilities
- Design, build, and optimise core C++ systems powering execution, market data, and connectivity across global venues.
- Contribute to infrastructure supporting pricing and quantitative trading, depending on strengths and business need.
- Work closely with engineering and trading teams to improve platform performance, resilience, and scale.
- Investigate and resolve complex, low-level issues across the trading stack.
- Continually push for better performance, cleaner design, and more robust systems.
Requirements
- Strong, proven experience with C++ in a high-performance, production environment.
- Deep understanding of C++ internals - standard libraries, data structures, and performance optimisation.
- Experience building networked, client-server style applications.
- Strong Linux systems knowledge.
- Sharp analytical thinking; strong mathematical ability is a plus for more quant-leaning work.
- Exposure to low-latency, trading, financial services, or similarly demanding technical environments is highly desirable, but not required.
- A proactive mindset, genuine curiosity about how things work under the hood, and the ability to perform under pressure.
