We're Hiring: Two Senior Engineering Roles – Real-Time Data Platform (Financial Services)

Central London | Inside IR35 | 6-month contracts | 2 days/week onsite

Our client is a global financial markets infrastructure and data business, providing real-time market data and trading infrastructure to institutions worldwide. They're expanding their observability and monitoring capability across their Real-Time platform and have two senior contract roles available:

1. Senior Observability Engineer (C++)

Hands-on role combining C++ engineering with technical leadership across the SDLC — building observability (metrics, tracing, logging, profiling, telemetry) for low-latency market data systems.

  • Deep observability engineering expertise

  • OpenTelemetry, eBPF, GitOps, API-driven automation, CI/CD
  • Cloud-native/Kubernetes/distributed systems
  • Proven ability to influence teams and drive adoption of standards
  • Trading, market-making, exchange connectivity, or market data background a strong plus.

2. Lead Engineer – Synthetic Monitoring & Orchestration

Build orchestration for custom synthetic monitoring agents deployed across hundreds of global sites, aggregating and correlating market data into unified end-to-end views.

Key skills:

  • Hands-on building data-pipeline apps (metrics aggregation, distributed tracing, real-time streaming)
  • Latency-sensitive/market data industry experience
  • One systems language (C++, Go, Rust) + one scripting/app language (Python, Java, TypeScript)
  • Strong analytical mindset for distributed-system behaviour and customer impact
  • API-/GitOps-based workflows, config-as-code, CI/CD
  • Strong communicator across squads
  • Desired: custom synthetic monitoring at scale, OpenTelemetry, Kubernetes at scale.
