About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Software Developer with a strong background in C++ and electronic trading technology to join our dynamic team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on mission-critical systems that directly impact trading performance and efficiency. The successful candidate will be involved in designing, developing, and optimizing high-performance matching engines, FIX gateways, and real-time trading applications. Operating within a hybrid work environment in London, you will collaborate closely with trading, product, and infrastructure teams to deliver innovative solutions that enhance our trading platform's capabilities.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of professional software development experience, particularly in high-performance systems.
- Proven expertise in C++ development, with a strong understanding of low-latency, multithreaded application design.
- Experience working with FIX protocol within electronic trading environments.
- Solid knowledge of Linux operating systems, including multithreading, sockets, IPC, and system-level behaviors.
- Familiarity with networking protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, multicast, and unicast.
- Understanding of concurrency, memory management, and in-memory data structure optimization.
- Experience with Java, Python, SQL, and relational databases is advantageous.
- Knowledge of NUMA architectures and performance-focused programming techniques.

Responsibilities
- Designing and developing high-performance, low-latency matching engines, FIX gateways, and electronic trading applications.
- Building and maintaining multithreaded systems using C++ and Java that process real-time market data efficiently.
- Developing in-memory data structures, lock-free queues, and circular buffers to optimize processing speed.
- Implementing networking solutions utilizing TCP/IP, UDP, multicast, and other relevant protocols.
- Troubleshooting, profiling, and optimizing performance-critical applications to ensure system stability and efficiency.
- Supporting automated testing frameworks, DevOps practices, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams including trading, product management, and infrastructure to deliver robust solutions throughout the development lifecycle.
- Participating in code reviews, documentation, and knowledge sharing to promote best practices within the team.
