About The Role

We are seeking an experienced Software Developer with expertise in C++ and a strong background in electronic trading technology. This role is based in London with a hybrid work model, offering a dynamic environment where you will contribute to the development of high-performance trading systems. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining low-latency applications that are critical to our clients' trading operations. You will work on core components such as matching engines, FIX gateways, and real-time trading platforms, ensuring their performance, reliability, and scalability meet the highest standards.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of professional software development experience, preferably in financial technology or related fields.
  • Strong proficiency in C++, with a solid understanding of low-latency, high-frequency, and performance-critical system design.
  • Experience with Java and Python is highly desirable, particularly in contexts involving electronic trading systems.
  • Hands-on experience working with FIX protocol within electronic trading environments.
  • Deep knowledge of Linux operating systems, including multithreading, socket programming, IPC, and system-level behavior.
  • Understanding of concurrency, memory management, and in-memory optimization techniques.
  • Familiarity with NUMA architectures and performance-focused programming practices.
  • Experience with networking protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, unicast, and multicast.
  • Additional skills in SQL and relational database management are advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop high-performance matching engines, FIX gateways, and electronic trading applications that meet strict latency and throughput requirements.
  • Create low-latency, multithreaded systems utilizing C++ and Java, ensuring efficient processing of real-time market data and trading information.
  • Develop and optimize in-memory data structures, lock-free queues, and circular buffers to maximize system performance.
  • Implement robust networking solutions using TCP/IP, UDP, multicast, and other protocols to facilitate reliable data transmission.
  • Conduct troubleshooting, profiling, and performance tuning of critical production applications to identify bottlenecks and improve system efficiency.
  • Support automated testing frameworks, DevOps practices, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to streamline development cycles.
  • Collaborate closely with trading, product, and infrastructure teams throughout the software development lifecycle to ensure alignment with business goals.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and incorporate best practices in low-latency system design and implementation.
