Miller Maxwell is working with an international financial services organisation that is expanding its software engineering team. The business is strengthening its position in the European market by investing significantly in every department within the business; they are expanding aggressively in every area.
No prior finance experience is required. The client is focused on strong Computer Science-based engineering ability, and trading domain knowledge will be picked up on the job, working closely with key internal stakeholders. This is an excellent opportunity for engineers from gaming, telecoms, embedded systems, defence or other performance-critical industries to move into financial services.

The role
Work on the client's software products and software applications.
- Collaborate directly with senior stakeholders and internal department heads, turning their requirements into high-performance solutions.
- Help prioritise and manage the delivery of software development projects.
- Work closely with the wider technology teams to make sure development requests are delivered efficiently.
What you'll need
- At least 5 years' commercial software engineering experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with C++.
- Proficiency with the STL and multithreading.
- Experience in performance-critical environments.
- Strong Linux/Unix experience.
- Financial services or electronic trading experience is a bonus but not a requirement.
