About the Role

We are working with a leading proprietary trading firm that is looking to hire exceptional C++ Engineers to join its high-performance trading technology team.

You will work on the development of highly sophisticated, low-latency systems that sit at the heart of the firm's trading infrastructure. This is an opportunity to work on technically challenging problems where performance, reliability, and efficiency are critical.

You will collaborate closely with Traders, Quant Researchers, and other Engineers to build and optimise systems used in real-time financial markets.

What You’ll Do

  • Design, develop, and optimise high-performance C++ trading systems.
  • Build and improve ultra-low-latency components across the trading stack.
  • Work on market data processing, exchange connectivity, order execution, and trading infrastructure.
  • Profile and optimise applications at both the software and hardware level.
  • Develop highly reliable, concurrent, and performance-critical systems.
  • Analyse system performance and identify opportunities for optimisation.
  • Work closely with Quant Researchers and Traders to translate trading requirements into robust technical solutions.
  • Contribute to the architecture and evolution of the firm's trading infrastructure.
  • Solve complex engineering problems involving concurrency, networking, memory management, and CPU performance.
  • Continuously improve system latency, throughput, and reliability.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
