Position Purpose

The Venue Sourcing Manager is responsible for leading and developing the Venue Sourcing team while delivering exceptional venue solutions for clients across meetings, conferences, incentives, and events globally. Combining strategic leadership with hands-on venue expertise, the role oversees complex sourcing projects, supplier partnerships, commercial performance, and operational excellence. The successful candidate will drive team performance, continuously improve sourcing processes, and play a key role in supporting agency growth, client satisfaction, and revenue generation.

The Venue Sourcing Manager acts as a senior point of contact for clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders, ensuring the highest levels of service, quality, and commercial success across all venue sourcing activity. This role also plays an important part in supporting new business activity, departmental strategy, and the ongoing development of the venue sourcing function.

Position Requirements

Essential Requirements

  • Significant experience in venue sourcing within the meetings, events, hospitality, or agency sector.
  • Experience working with pharmaceutical, healthcare, or regulated industry clients. Knowledge of industry compliance requirements.
  • Previous experience managing, coaching, or mentoring team members.
  • Excellent knowledge of UK & international venues and strong understanding of UK & international venue sourcing.
  • Proven experience negotiating venue contracts, rates, and commercial terms.
  • Strong commercial awareness and understanding of profitability drivers.
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines simultaneously.
  • Outstanding communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing abilities.
  • Experience analyzing performance metrics and using data to drive decision-making.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and venue sourcing or CRM systems.
  • Proactive, solutions-focused approach with the ability to work effectively under pressure

Desirable

  • Experience within an events agency environment.
  • Existing network of UK and international venue contacts.
  • Experience negotiating preferred supplier agreements.
  • Strong understanding of venue contracts and commercial terms.
  • Experience using Cvent or other venue sourcing platforms.
  • Understanding of sustainability initiatives within the meetings and events industry.
  • Proximity to the Wakefield office and willingness to work within a hybrid model.
