Cabinet Installation Trainee

Kitchen Tune-Up Stevens Point

Location: Stevens Point

Starting pay: $20–$24/hour, based on relevant hands-on skills

Schedule: Full-time, weekdays. No weekend work. Usually 7-4.


No Professional Carpentry Experience Required. Paid Training.

Hands-on learning, useful feedback, and visible progress toward a skilled trade.

Enjoy building, fixing, or figuring out how things fit together?

Learn to update kitchens while earning a paycheck. You’ll start alongside an experienced installer, learn safe working methods, and take on more responsibility as your skills develop.

Your work helps homeowners get cabinets that look better, work properly, and stand up to everyday use.

What you’ll do

  • Help protect the home and prepare the workspace.
  • Load, organize, and care for tools and materials.
  • Learn to measure, mark, drill, and use tools safely.
  • Help remove and install cabinet doors, drawer fronts, and hardware.
  • Practice adjustments and finishing details with guidance.
  • Clean up daily and ask questions when instructions are unclear.

What you must bring

  • Interest in hands-on work and willingness to practice.
  • Ability to follow instructions and use feedback.
  • Basic measurement and number skills, which we’ll help you develop.
  • Reliable attendance and respectful behavior in customers’ homes.
  • Reliable transportation to Shop (east of Menards 5 miles)
  • Ability to perform essential job tasks, with or without reasonable accommodation. Install cabinets, doors, etc.

Helpful, but not required

  • Home projects, shop classes, furniture assembly, repairs, or other hands-on experience.
  • Familiarity with basic hand tools.
  • Experience working with customers or on a team.

You do not need cabinet experience or your own professional tool collection.

How you’ll grow

Start by assisting an installer. Progress to completing specific tasks with less supervision, then toward an installer role as you demonstrate safe, accurate work.

Location and travel

Report to Shop (east of Menards 5 miles). Most work is in a 45 min radius with occasional further.
