About the role

At Hammersmith & Fulham, we are ambitious for our residents and committed to creating a safer, stronger and kinder borough for everyone. We are looking for a highly organised and politically aware Cabinet Support Officer to provide trusted policy and administrative support to two or three Cabinet Members, while contributing to the wider work of the Cabinet, the Administration and the Leader’s Office.

This is a varied and fast-paced role at the heart of the Council’s decision-making. You will help Cabinet Members deliver their portfolio priorities by providing high-quality briefings, research, correspondence and casework support. You will manage busy diaries and inboxes, coordinate meetings and site visits, prepare agendas and papers, record and track actions, and ensure that commitments are followed through.

You will work closely with senior leaders, council services, residents, community organisations and external partners. Using sound judgement and careful forward planning, you will identify emerging issues, commission information, draft clear responses and make sure Cabinet Members receive accurate, timely and relevant advice. Political sensitivity, confidentiality and discretion will be essential throughout.

Key Requirements

  • You have experience of providing high-quality administrative support to senior stakeholders, including diary, inbox, meeting and correspondence management.
  • You understand local government structures and can work confidently in a politically sensitive environment.
  • You can analyse complex information and turn it into concise, accurate briefings and correspondence for different audiences.
  • You are organised, dependable and comfortable balancing competing priorities and short deadlines.
  • You build trusted relationships with people at all levels and bring a collaborative, solution-focused approach.
  • You are committed to excellent public service and improving outcomes for residents and communities.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
