Fibre Cabling Engineers
We're looking for Fibre Cabling Engineers to help build and expand next-generation fibre networks across the UK. This is a hands-on role where no two days are quite the same. One day you could be pulling fibre through underground ductwork, the next supporting overhead installations or helping bring new customer connections to life.
You'll be trusted to work independently, make sensible decisions on-site, and deliver quality work safely and professionally.
What you'll be doing:
- Installing fibre optic cable across underground and overhead networks
- Test rodding and roping ducts prior to cable installation
- Supporting fibre blowing and network build activities
- Installing and connecting network infrastructure
- Carrying out site surveys and assessments
- Ensuring work areas are set up safely and in line with industry standards
- Completing work to a high standard whilst maintaining excellent customer service
- Working closely with engineering and delivery teams to keep projects moving forward

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
