Cabling Engineer – London

Pay: £180–£240 per day, depending on experience and project

Hours: 10 hours per day

Break: 1-hour unpaid break

Overtime: Paid at 1.25x–1.5x, depending on the project


Surge Data Centre Services is looking for experienced Cabling Engineers to work across data centre and commercial projects throughout London.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installing fibre-optic cabling within data centres and commercial premises
  • Delivering complete fibre-backbone installations
  • Routing, dressing, and securing fibre cabling
  • Fibre termination, splicing, and testing
  • Labelling installations and maintaining high standards of workmanship
  • Reading drawings and following site specifications
  • Working safely and efficiently as part of the site team

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience with fibre installations
  • Experience in data centre or commercial environments
  • A strong understanding of fibre-backbone infrastructure
  • Good attention to detail and cable-management standards
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • A valid ECS/CSCS card and relevant industry qualifications are preferred
