Role: Cable Technician - Data Centre Connectivity
Location: London - data centre projects across the M25
Employment: Permanent
Salary: £37,500 - £40,000 + company van + additional paid hour each day
We are working with a specialist data centre infrastructure and connectivity provider delivering high-performance structured cabling and fibre solutions across major data centre environments. Due to continued growth, they are looking for experienced Cable Technicians to join projects across the London area.
What you'll be doing
- Install, terminate, test, fault-find, label and patch structured cabling systems across data centre environments.
- Work across copper and fibre optic infrastructure, including containment, cabinets, racks and associated connectivity hardware.
- Use Fluke and relevant test equipment to validate installations and identify faults.
- Work accurately from construction drawings, cabling schedules and project specifications.
- Maintain high standards of installation quality, productivity and workmanship against programme requirements.
- Support snagging, testing, commissioning and project close-out activities.
- Maintain accurate daily records, timesheets, material records and site documentation.
- Follow all client and company quality procedures, RAMS and health & safety requirements.
- Represent the business professionally on client sites, maintaining correct PPE, clean workwear and respectful conduct.

What we're looking for
- At least 2 years' experience installing, terminating and testing structured cabling systems.
- Strong practical knowledge of copper and fibre optic infrastructure.
- Confident using Fluke analysers and other relevant test equipment.
- Ability to identify and rectify structured cabling faults.
- Experience with recognised cabling manufacturers such as Corning, CommScope, Panduit, Brand-Rex, Excel or equivalent.
- CSCS/ECS card and a full UK driving licence.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a project delivery team.
Highly desirable
- Previous hyperscale or large-scale data centre project experience.
- Experience supporting AI-ready physical network infrastructure, including high-density or GPU-based deployments such as NVIDIA environments, would be particularly valuable.
- Strong technical understanding of fibre and structured cabling within mission-critical environments.
- Openness to international travel for future project requirements.

Package & opportunities
- £37,500 - £40,000 base salary, with flexibility for candidates with an exceptional technical track record.
- Company van provided.
- 40-hour working week with overtime opportunities.
- Additional discretionary paid hour for each working day where expected standards are maintained, including full PPE, clean workwear, professional presentation and appropriate client conduct.
- For somebody earning the additional hour consistently across a normal five-day week, this is equivalent to approximately £4,688 - £5,000 additional annual pay before other overtime.
- International project opportunities may arise, with accommodation and travel provided and an additional salary/rate uplift applied while working overseas.
