Cabling Designer & Planner

Join Roc Technologies and Help Shape Critical Infrastructure Projects

We're looking for an experienced Cabling Designer & Planner to join our growing Solution Architecture team. This is a newly created position that will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between Pre-Sales and Delivery, transforming customer requirements into high-quality, deliverable structured cabling solutions.

Working across secure government, defence, aviation and enterprise environments, you'll lead the design, survey, planning and commercial modelling of complex structured cabling and fibre infrastructure projects, supporting customers including high-profile secure sites and major infrastructure programmes.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Design structured cabling solutions including fibre, copper, containment and communications room infrastructure.
  • Conduct customer surveys, site assessments and technical discovery workshops.
  • Produce accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs), estimates and cost models.
  • Review and validate project scope, pricing and delivery requirements.
  • Support bid responses, tenders and customer proposals.
  • Ensure designs comply with BS EN 50174, ISO/IEC 11801, BICSI and industry best-practice standards.
  • Act as the technical bridge between Pre-Sales, Project Management and Delivery teams.
  • Provide technical leadership and assurance throughout the project lifecycle.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
