Know your way around complex 3, 4 and 5-axis CNC programming?
We're looking for an experienced CAD/CAM Programmer to join a growing advanced engineering manufacturer in Northampton, producing specialist components, patterns and moulds for some seriously interesting industries.
Think Formula 1, aerospace, automotive, marine and advanced engineering.
This is a programming role – you won't be required to operate or run the CNC machines.

πŸ’» Your focus

Working alongside the Engineering Manager and manufacturing team, you'll be responsible for creating accurate, efficient CNC programs and developing the best manufacturing strategy for each job.

You'll be:

  • Creating CNC programs for 3, 4 and 5-axis machinery
  • Programming HAAS, Belotti and HOMAG machines
  • Developing efficient toolpaths and machining strategies
  • Using CAD to design fixtures and workholding solutions
  • Identifying tooling requirements for upcoming jobs
  • Working from engineering drawings, GD&T and geometric tolerances
  • Considering tolerances and surface finish requirements within your programming
  • Working with the Engineering Manager to establish the most effective method of manufacture

πŸ–₯️ What are we looking for?

You'll need strong previous experience as a CAD/CAM Programmer / CNC Programmer within a precision engineering environment.

Experience using one or more of:

  • Autodesk PowerMill
  • hyperMILL
  • Siemens NX

Experience with SolidWorks would be useful, but isn't essential.
You'll also need a good understanding of 3, 4 and 5-axis machining methods, toolpaths, tooling and workholding – but again, this isn't a CNC Machinist position.

Experience within Formula 1, motorsport, aerospace or high-performance automotive would be particularly interesting.

πŸ• Hours

  • Monday – Thursday: 07:45 – 16:15
  • Friday: 07:45 – 14:45
  • 38.5 hours per week
    And yes – early finish every Friday.
