The CAD Design Technician & Estimator is a full-time, on-site role based in Glasgow. This position is responsible for producing accurate technical CAD drawings and layouts for tapered insulation and non-combustible roofing systems, based on project specifications and construction plans. The role includes preparing detailed estimates, quantities, and material take-offs, and supporting project teams with cost data and technical information. Day-to-day activities involve collaborating with designers, engineers, and contractors, reviewing drawings for compliance with building regulations and BS6229, and updating CAD models as projects evolve. The technician will also assist with technical documentation, coordinate with suppliers, and help resolve design-related queries to ensure timely and accurate project delivery.

Qualifications
- Ability to provide Technical Support related to CAD design and roofing insulation solutions.
- Knowledge of Computer Maintenance and Operating Systems to ensure reliable use of CAD and design software.
- Strong Troubleshooting and Computer Repair skills to address hardware and software issues impacting design work.
- Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD or similar) and the ability to produce detailed technical drawings.
- Understanding of construction and roofing terminology, building regulations, and relevant standards such as BS6229.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills for estimating, material take-offs, and cost calculations.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Relevant technical qualification or apprenticeship in CAD design, construction, engineering, or a related field.
