CAD Designer - Contract

Critec Group is seeking a skilled CAD Designer to join our team in the United Kingdom on a contract basis.

Produce accurate, high-quality technical drawings and design documentation in support of electronic and physical security projects, working closely with lead engineers to translate design intent into clear, compliant, and well-presented CAD deliverables across the full project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Report to the Lead Design Engineer.
• Responsible for producing and maintaining all CAD drawing deliverables across assigned project workstreams.
• Utilise and maintain drawing registers, document records, and CAD files using Critec document management systems.
• Follow pre-defined drawing standards, naming conventions, and version control procedures.
• Produce 2D and 3D technical drawings for electronic and physical security system designs including site and floor plan device layouts, cable containment routes, riser diagrams, equipment room layouts, and HVM drawings.
• Translate engineer mark-ups, sketches, site survey notes, and verbal briefs into accurate drawings to project and company standards.
• Attend site surveys with the engineering team to capture dimensional data and existing infrastructure details for drawing updates.
• Review and amend drawings in response to design changes, client comments, and contractor RFIs.
• Coordinate drawing submissions with the Document Controller to ensure correct version control, transmittal, and distribution.
• Assist engineers in the production of equipment schedules, Bills of Materials (BOM), and device point lists.
• Support the preparation of Stage Gate presentation materials including design drawings and visual aids.
• Carry out drawing quality checks prior to issue to ensure accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
• Manage workload across multiple concurrent projects, communicating proactively with the engineering team on programme priorities.
