CAD Designer

Job Summary

We are seeking a CAD Designer to produce and manage detailed design drawings and models using SolidWorks, taking ownership of design tasks from concept through to manufacture-ready documentation. This role sits between drafting support and full design engineering, with scope to work more independently and contribute design input, but without commercial or client-facing responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed design drawings, models, and specifications for products and tooling
  • Create and modify 2D and 3D models for structures, components, and systems
  • Manage drawing catalogues and revisions, ensuring accessibility to engineering and other teams
  • Work closely with engineers to capture tooling and manufacturing requirements
  • Create and maintain plant/facility layout drawings
  • Review and modify designs to meet quality standards and specifications
  • Identify and flag design improvements or issues to senior engineering staff
  • Prepare documentation for project and design reviews
  • Provide technical input on drawings when queried by internal teams

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
