CAD Manager

Are you an experienced CAD professional ready to take ownership of survey data and digital standards on a major infrastructure project? This is an excellent opportunity to lead engineering-survey CAD operations across a complex, high-profile construction project. You will shape CAD standards, improve the way critical information is managed and shared, and ensure engineering, surveying and design teams have the accurate data they need to deliver safely and effectively.

The Role

Working closely with engineering, surveying, design and utilities specialists, you will oversee the production, processing and delivery of survey CAD data throughout the project. You will provide technical leadership, develop efficient workflows and ensure that CAD information - including safety-critical subsurface and setting-out data - is accurate, controlled and compliant with project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee engineering-survey CAD operations across the project.
  • Manage the production, processing and delivery of survey data in accordance with project CAD specifications.
  • Ensure engineering, surveying and design teams are using the correct CAD information and working to agreed standards.
  • Develop, implement and maintain CAD standards, procedures, workflows and best practices.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary project teams to understand requirements and deliver accurate, timely CAD outputs.
  • Manage the flow of information between design teams and site-based engineering and surveying teams.
  • Work closely with surveying and utilities specialists to ensure subsurface and utility data is accurately recorded, represented and shared.
  • Improve the management of safety-critical CAD information used for activities such as permits to dig.
  • Enhance the process for issuing and using setting-out information on site.
  • Provide technical guidance, training and ongoing support to CAD and survey software users.
  • Manage CAD software licences, upgrades and associated hardware resources.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards, industry regulations and project requirements.
  • Promote innovation, consistency and continuous improvement across CAD operations.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
