About the Role
We are a well-established sheet metal manufacturer with a proven track record.
This is a great opportunity for someone with AutoCAD, SolidWorks or Fusion 360 and sheet metal experience who enjoys producing technical drawings, preparing estimates, and working closely with customers and production teams.
This is a hands-on role working closely with our management team & workshop team. We work directly with our clients to develop detailed manufacturing drawings and production-ready designs for a wide range of fabricated metalwork parts & assemblies for many varied industries.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience using the AutoCAD / SolidWorks / Fusion 360 applications and be capable of producing accurate 3D models, flat patterns, DXF files, and manufacturing drawings with minimal supervision.
Day-to-day Responsibilities Include:
- Producing detailed drawings using AutoCAD, SolidWorks or Fusion 360
- Generate fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, workshop drawings, and Bills of Materials
- Create production-ready DXF files for laser cutting and CNC machinery
- Preparing accurate estimates and quotations from architectural and technical drawings
- Speaking with customers and suppliers throughout the process
- Obtaining supplier quotations where required
- Design and develop components using sheet metal features including bends, hems, flanges, gussets, louvers, and forming tools
- Supporting the fabrication team with technical queries
- Managing new enquiries and ensuring they are dealt with efficiently
- Keeping up to date with products, industry standards, and technical information

Essential Requirements
- Advanced proficiency in either SolidWorks / AutoCAD / Fusion 360
- Experience creating flat patterns and production-ready manufacturing drawings
- Experience preparing DXF files for laser cutting and CNC fabrication for a laser, turret punches & press break machines
- Good understanding of sheet metal fabrication and manufacturing processes
- Ability to interpret engineering, architectural, and fabrication drawings
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Good spoken and written English communication skills
Desirable Skills
- Experience within metal fabrication and bespoke metal manufacturing
- Knowledge of Amada laser cutting, press brake operations, CNC turret punch, welding, and assembly processes
- Understanding of ISO 9001 quality management systems
- Full UK driving licence

Important Information
This is a full-time, office-based position located in Luton, Bedfordshire.
Please note:
- This role is not suitable for remote working
- No working from home (WFH) arrangements are available
The successful candidate will work from our Luton factory units alongside our management and fabrication teams.
We will provide licensed copies of any software required to perform the role.
This is a long-term position within a growing and ambitious fabrication business.
