CAD Technician – Data Centre & Structured Cabling Projects
Location: Morley, Leeds
Employment type: Permanent
Salary or rate: Competitive.
Position Overview
We are seeking a CAD Technician to produce and maintain accurate technical drawings for data centre and structured cabling projects. Working alongside project managers, designers, and site teams, you will turn design information and site surveys into clear drawings that support installation, coordination, and project handover.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce and update 2D CAD drawings for data centre fit-outs, structured cabling, and ICT infrastructure.
- Prepare rack layouts, cabinet elevations, equipment layouts, cable routes, containment drawings, and patching diagrams.
- Incorporate site survey findings, design changes, and installation updates into drawing packages.
- Coordinate drawings with electrical, mechanical, and construction teams to identify clashes and resolve design queries.
- Maintain drawing registers, revision histories, and document control standards.
- Produce accurate as-built drawings and handover documentation.
- Work with project and site teams to ensure drawings reflect installation requirements and site conditions.

- Experience using AutoCAD in an ICT, structured cabling, construction, or data centre environment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and site information.
- Understanding of copper and fibre cabling, racks, cabinets, containment, and data centre layouts.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage drawing revisions accurately.
- Good communication skills and confidence working with both design and site teams.
- Experience with Revit, BIM coordination, or large-scale data centre projects would be an advantage.
