Role: CAD Technician - Electronic Security Systems
Location: Fully Remote (occasional travel to Nottingham office)
Work Pattern: Remote, with rare on-site attendance
Salary: £39,500
Clearance: Must be eligible for SC and NPPV3
We are on the lookout for a CAD Technician to join a long-established electronic security systems integrator, working on the design and documentation of CCTV, access control and perimeter intruder detection systems (PIDS) across some of the UK's most secure environments, custodial, critical national infrastructure, energy, healthcare and stadia.
This is a design-focused role for someone who enjoys producing accurate, buildable drawings and 3D models. You'll work alongside design engineers and project managers, turning survey data and system specifications into the drawing packs installation teams work from. Decades of heritage behind the business and a client base that isn't going anywhere, with the flexibility of a fully remote setup.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
