CAD Technician (Transport Planning/Highways Design)

Birmingham

£30,000 - £40,000 + Bonus + Private Healthcare + Progression + Pension

Are you a CAD Technician or similar looking to join a growing transport planning consultancy working on a wide range of highway and infrastructure projects across the UK?

Do you want to work for a well-established business that supplies into the civil engineering industry, providing you with the chance to develop your technical skills on varied projects?

On offer is the opportunity for a CAD Technician or similar to join a growing transport planning consultancy with an reputation for delivering quality highways, infrastructure and development projects for both public and private sector clients nationwide. With a strong pipeline of work and continued growth, they're looking to expand their design team with an ambitious CAD Technician.

In this role, the successful CAD Technician or similar will support a number of highway design projects, producing drawings, calculations and technical documents using AutoCAD. You'll work alongside experienced engineers through design and construction stages, helping deliver highway improvements, new roads, and infrastructure projects. You'll also liaise with utility companies, local authorities and other stakeholders to ensure projects progress smoothly.

The ideal CAD Technician is looking to build a long-term career within highways and transport planning, working on varied projects with ongoing training and progression opportunities.

The Role

  • Produce highway design drawings using AutoCAD
  • Assist with highway design projects from concept through to construction
  • Prepare drawings, reports, schedules and technical documentation

The Person

  • Experience using AutoCAD within highways or civil engineering
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Able to manage workloads and meet project deadlines
