Mechanical CAD Technician
Glasswell & Last Ltd are currently looking to fill a position for a Mechanical CAD Technician.
Salary
Salary range is based upon previous experience and formal qualifications.
About the Role
We are looking for an individual with experience in working with Autodesk products such as AutoCAD, Inventor, Plant3D, Revit, Advanced Steel, or ASD. This is a varied role with projects typically being within the water, waste water, and industrial utility sectors. You will be part of our growing mechanical design team, the role is data-orientated, and you must have a keen eye for detail and be confident to ask questions. Meticulous quality control and record keeping are essential. You will also value being part of a team that puts emphasis on delivering an outstanding service to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
- Production of accurate general arrangement, fabrication, and as-built drawings.
- Production of other required design outputs including bills of quantities and collation of manufacturer's technical datasheets.
- Effective use of document management techniques within a BIM environment, i.e., uploading drawings for review and approval and ensuring comments and amendments are captured.
- To liaise with the project management team to develop project costings.
- To liaise with our fabrication and installation teams and clarify technical details, taking on board feedback and improvements for future projects.

- Experience with Autodesk software such as AutoCAD or Inventor.
- Good computer skills, with experience using common software packages like MS Word, Excel.
- Full UK driving license and use of your own car (Mileage reimbursed in line with HMRC rates should you have to use your own vehicle for business travel).
Advantageous Skills and Qualifications
- Ability to create 3D models from various stages of design input using Inventor.
- A recognised time-served apprenticeship in a related discipline.
- ONC, OND, HNC, HND, or Degree in mechanical, production, or structural engineering or a closely related discipline.
Interpersonal Skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Team player.
Salary
25000 - 35000 GBP Per annum
