CAD Technician Permanent Full-Time

Salary – Circa £30,000 DOE
Location – Office based in West Yorkshire

Join a specialist consultancy at the forefront of sports design, engineering, and agronomy. For nearly a century, our client has delivered sustainable, research-driven technical solutions for elite UK and international sports venues, grassroots community spaces, and professional training facilities.

Due to steady growth across their UK portfolio, they are looking for a CAD Technician to join their multidisciplinary Design Team. Moving beyond standard drafting, this role offers real career growth into Civil 3D, earthworks, and complex drainage modelling under the guidance of industry-leading specialists.

Responsibilities

  • Utilise 2D AutoCAD to prepare General Arrangement (GA) drawings, cross-sections, and detailed construction build-ups for sports surfaces and civil infrastructure
  • Leverage Civil 3D to model surface and below-ground drainage networks (pipe networks, chambers, falls, and outfalls) and perform cut-and-fill or earthworks modelling
  • Process topographical surveys, architectural layouts, and site information to generate accurate surface models, 3D contours, and proposed site gradients
  • Develop fully coordinated, buildable CAD / Civil 3D drawing packages from initial concept through to final construction issue
  • Collaborate with civil engineers, project managers, and Design Leads to resolve technical details, integrate client revisions, and support BIM-aligned / Navisworks workflows where required
  • Maintain strict adherence to internal CAD standards, manage drawing registers, control revisions, and ensure technical quality across active project files

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
