The Vacancy

Deliver Digital Engineering. Create Intelligent Models. Shape Essential Infrastructure.

WGM Engineering, part of RSK Group, is looking for an experienced CAD/BIM Modeller to join our growing Technical & Design team on a permanent, full-time basis.

This role will be based in Glasgow and will benefit from hybrid working and a 9-day working fortnight, with every second Friday off. Please note we will be relocating to Stepps within 6 months.

You will create and coordinate 3D models for multidisciplinary engineering projects, working closely with Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Process and ICA teams to turn engineering concepts into practical, buildable solutions.

You do not need previous water-sector experience to be successful in this role. We are interested in people with relevant digital design experience from engineering, infrastructure, utilities, energy, process, manufacturing, rail, construction or other technically complex environments who can bring transferable capability into WGM.

WGM Engineering is experiencing significant growth across the UK water, utilities and essential infrastructure sectors. We combine in-house technical expertise, project delivery, off-site engineering capability and a strong self-delivery model to achieve safe, efficient and sustainable outcomes for our clients.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Produce and develop coordinated 3D models and associated technical drawings for multidisciplinary engineering projects.
  • Translate engineering concepts, specifications, survey information and design requirements into accurate digital models.
  • Work collaboratively with Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Process and ICA teams to develop coordinated and buildable solutions.
  • Support projects from concept and optioneering through detailed design and construction.
  • Participate in site surveys and information-gathering activities to support model development.
  • Undertake model coordination and clash detection, identifying and helping resolve design and constructability issues.
  • Produce design outputs in line with project, client and WGM quality requirements.
  • Participate in design reviews, coordination meetings and client workshops.
  • Contribute to BIM standards, modelling procedures and continual improvement in digital engineering delivery.

What You’ll Bring

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:

  • Experience producing 3D models and technical drawings within an engineering, infrastructure, construction or comparable technical environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of Revit, Civil 3D, Inventor or similar 3D design software.
  • Experience interpreting engineering drawings, specifications and technical information.
  • Understanding of multidisciplinary design coordination and clash resolution.
  • Strong attention to detail and a focus on accurate, high-quality design outputs.
  • The ability to communicate and work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
