Job Opportunity: CAD/CAM Operator

The Company
Serving some of the UK’s most recognisable brands, Merson Signs is an expert designer, manufacturer and installer of signs.
We are now looking for a CAD/CAM Operator to join us on a full-time, permanent basis.

The Role
As a CAD/CAM Operator, you will create, modify and optimise CAD drawings and CAM programmes to support efficient, high-quality manufacturing.
Specifically, you will produce 2D and 3D CAD drawings from customer specifications and engineering requirements, while at the same time generating CAM programmes for CNC laser cutting, punching, bending and fabrication equipment.

Providing technical support across the manufacturing process, you will resolve design and production queries, identify opportunities for continuous improvement and ensure all work complies with quality, health, safety and environmental standards.
Additionally, You Will
- Prepare nesting layouts to maximise material utilisation and minimise waste
- Interpret engineering drawings, technical data and customer requirements
- Maintain accurate records of drawings, revisions and production files
About You
To be considered as a CAD/CAM Operator, you will need:
- Previous experience in a CAD/CAM role within a manufacturing or sheet metal environment
- An understanding of CNC manufacturing processes, including laser cutting and sheet metal fabrication
- The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
- The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
