As a leading offshore infrastructure support vessel operator, we play a critical role in supporting the energy transition across offshore wind, emergency response, and maritime operations. Behind every successful vessel is a highly skilled, competent, and engaged workforce.

We're looking for an exceptional Cadet, Training & Competence Coordinator to join our Learning & Development team and help develop future maritime professionals while supporting the skills, competence, and workforce readiness that underpin safe and successful operations across our fleet.

Join a business that is investing heavily in the development of its people, creating career opportunities across one of the UK's most modern and diverse offshore fleets.

Why This Role Matters

Talent development is a strategic priority at North Star. From supporting cadets embarking on their first voyage to helping experienced employees maintain the skills, certifications, and competence needed for operational excellence, you'll play a key role in developing the workforce that powers our business today and tomorrow.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
