Are you passionate about great food, excellent customer service, and creating a welcoming atmosphere? We're looking for a Café Assistant to join our team at Cafe 1759 in Bordon for 30 hours per week.

This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same. You'll be supporting the day-to-day running of the café, helping prepare and serve delicious food, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety, and assisting with some administrative tasks to keep everything running smoothly.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Assisting with food preparation and kitchen duties
  • Serving customers in a friendly, professional manner
  • Maintaining excellent standards of cleanliness and hygiene
  • Following all health, safety, and food safety procedures
  • Monitoring stock levels and assisting with deliveries
  • Completing food safety and operational records
  • Supporting with basic administrative tasks and record keeping
  • Helping create a welcoming environment for customers and visitors

  • Previous experience working in a kitchen, café, restaurant, or food service environment.
  • A good understanding of food hygiene, health & safety, and food safety regulations, with the ability to follow procedures consistently.
  • Strong organisational skills and confidence completing basic administrative tasks, records, and paperwork.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills, with a friendly and approachable manner.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team in a busy environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • A proactive attitude, with a willingness to support all areas of the café as needed.
  • A Food Safety qualification (Level 2 preferred) or a willingness to work towards one.
  • Good English and numeracy skills to support customer service, stock management, and administrative duties.
