Chef de Partie – Café Kowloon

Pay:

£15.50 per hour, inclusive of tronc

Hours:

Approximately 30 - 45 hours per week

Café Kowloon is looking for an experienced Chef de Partie to join our kitchen team.

Café Kowloon is a modern Hong Kong-inspired restaurant with a menu centred around Cantonese flavours and techniques, live-fire cooking, wok, grill and high-quality produce.

We’re looking for a confident and organised chef who can take responsibility for their section, work well as part of a team and maintain high standards throughout prep and service.

The Role

As Chef de Partie, you will:

  • Take responsibility for the preparation and running of your section
  • Ensure all mise en place is completed and organised ahead of service
  • Cook and plate dishes consistently to the required standard
  • Work across different sections of the kitchen when required
  • Maintain excellent standards of food safety, hygiene and cleanliness
  • Monitor stock, rotation, prep levels and wastage
  • Communicate effectively with the Head Chef, Sous Chef and wider kitchen team
  • Support junior members of the brigade during prep and service
  • Assist with deliveries, storage and stock management
  • Follow recipes, specifications and kitchen procedures consistently
  • Contribute to a professional, organised and positive working environment

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or experienced Demi Chef de Partie
  • Experience working in a quality, high-volume restaurant kitchen
  • Strong basic cooking skills and good attention to detail
  • Ability to organise and confidently run a section during busy services
  • Good understanding of food hygiene, allergens and safe working practices
  • Reliable, punctual and organised
  • Able to communicate clearly and work effectively as part of a team
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen
  • Keen to learn and develop
  • Experience with Cantonese, Chinese or East Asian cooking is beneficial but not essential. Training will be provided for the right candidate.
