Cairngorm Coffee is a Scottish coffee roaster known for high-quality specialty coffee and a focus on craft and consistency. The company operates two specialty coffee shops and a general store in the Highlands, creating welcoming spaces for coffee enthusiasts and local communities. In addition to retail operations, Cairngorm Coffee supplies wholesale coffee to businesses across the UK, supporting partners with carefully sourced and roasted beans. Team members join a growing, hands-on business that values hospitality, product knowledge, and attention to detail.
Role Description
The Cafe Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Edinburgh, responsible for overseeing daily cafe operations and leading the front-of-house team. Day-to-day tasks include:

The role involves:
- Monitoring stock levels
- Coordinating with suppliers
- Developing improved SOP's and procedures
- Managing POS systems
- Supporting sales goals through excellent customer experience
The Cafe Manager will:
- Train and mentor team members
- Handle customer feedback
- Collaborate with leadership to implement initiatives that improve service, efficiency, and overall performance
Qualifications
- Strong Customer Service skills with a focus on creating positive guest experiences and resolving issues professionally.
- Clear and effective Communication skills for coordinating with team members, suppliers, and management.
- Hands-on experience in Food & Beverage operations, including coffee preparation and quality control.
- Background in Food Service, covering hygiene standards, workflow management, and compliance with safety regulations.
- Sales skills to support upselling, driving revenue, and promoting Cairngorm Coffee products.
- Previous experience in cafe, coffee shop, or hospitality management is highly beneficial.
- Ability to lead and motivate a diverse team, with strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
- Comfort with using POS systems and basic numeracy daily reporting.
- Flexibility to work weekends and peak periods as required by cafe operations.
