The Role – Lead the Vibe

We’re on the lookout for a Café Supervisor who’s full of positive energy, passionate about hospitality, and ready to help lead an amazing team. Supporting the Cafe Manager – keeping service smooth, the team motivated, and the vibes just right.

Role Description - Our Expectation

To serve all customers who enter the business and exceed their expectations, ensuring that you comply with all compliance and venue standards. To become an Ambassador for Scotsman Group by delivering an outstanding customer experience on every occasion.

Your Responsibilities...

  • Ensure that the tables and bar are set up for service.
  • Warm and friendly approach to all customers.
  • Works efficiently and at a speed that matches business levels.
  • Organises daily workload, positively adapting to operational changes within the venue.
  • Detailed knowledge of the menu.
  • Good product knowledge – coffee, sandwiches, etc.
  • Customer orientated approach – can anticipate customer needs.
  • Meets and greets customers within 10 seconds of them entering the venue/approaching the bar, in a confident, friendly manner.
  • Communicates promotions/specials as per venue and cross sells other venues where appropriate.
  • Ensures all staff are aware of incentives/daily shift goals.
  • Excellent knowledge of the till and can take all forms of payment including credit cards.
  • Can make coffee to venue specification.
  • Engages with customers throughout service.
  • Can confidently supervise the team, ensuring the customers’ needs are being put first.
  • Communicates with all team members positively and in an open manner.
  • Supports new staff to settle into the venue.
  • Supports the management team by motivating the staff and consistently demonstrating good teamwork skills.
  • Coaches and trains other staff to ensure they carry out the operational procedures correctly and follow the Customer Journey.
  • Confident in dealing with complaints, passing onto a manager if necessary.
  • Can organise and keep tidy stocks in the cellar, has awareness and understanding of required stock levels.
  • Can take bookings in line with venue booking system – aware of booth packages etc.
  • Identifies any operational problems and highlights them to management, providing suggestions to help identify resolutions quickly and efficiently.
  • Adheres to both Company and Venue standard operating procedures, including statutory legislation requirements, leading by example at all times.
  • May be required to open and close the venue in the absence of the manager.
  • Knows and follows health and safety, fire procedures – washing hands, fire exits etc.
  • Engaging with customers to encourage them to spend longer in the venue and give repeat custom such as recommending premium products and informing them of future events.
  • Follows checklist for clear up.
  • Supervises and takes control so clear up/next day prep is completed efficiently.
