Calibration & Diagnostics Engineer
About the Role
As a Calibration & Diagnostics Engineer, you will join our Coventry team to support our activities within the automotive engineering sector.
You will support vehicle development programmes through diagnostics, calibration activities, and complex issue resolution. Working within a fast-paced environment, you will play a key role in troubleshooting powertrain systems and ensuring performance and compliance targets are met.
Location: Coventry On Site: Hybrid Clearance: Clearable Experience Level: Mid-level (3–6 years experience)
Key Responsibilities
- Perform vehicle diagnostics and support development testing activities
- Flash calibrations and Decimal Codification Modules (DCMs) using ETAS INCA (or equivalent tools)
- Investigate and resolve complex technical issues using structured problem-solving methods
- Support powertrain validation and ensure alignment with development targets
Qualifications
Required Skills:
- Proven background in an automotive development environment with diagnostics experience
- Proficiency in ETAS INCA (or equivalent) and calibration flashing tools
- Strong experience in issue resolution and structured problem-solving
- Customer-focused mindset with strong communication skills
- Full UK driving license with less than 6 penalty points

Required Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent military experience.
- Experience working within vehicle or powertrain development environments
- Familiarity with automotive engineering processes and standards
Desirable Skills:
- Understanding of powertrain certification and test environments
- Experience with powertrain homologation requirements
- Proficiency with data analysis tools (e.g., Python, MATLAB, Concerto)
- Knowledge of Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Failure Mode Mechanics (FMA), or Six Sigma or similar methodologies
