Calibration Technician

Yolk Recruitment are supporting this recruitment campaign for a Calibration Technician to join an established technical business specialising in the calibration and repair of test equipment. This is a hands-on opportunity for an experienced Calibration Technician or an electrically qualified technician looking to develop their career in calibration, testing and repair.

The role involves calibrating, testing and inspecting electrical and test & measurement equipment, carrying out fault finding and repairs, and maintaining accurate technical records and certification. Applications are welcomed from experienced technicians as well as junior candidates with relevant electrical or technical experience, including those who have recently completed an apprenticeship.

As a Calibration Technician, you will work as part of the technical team carrying out calibration, testing, inspection and repair activities in line with company procedures, relevant standards and customer requirements.

Key responsibilities:

  • Carry out calibration, testing and inspection of electrical and test & measurement equipment.
  • Use appropriate calibration standards, test equipment and software to complete technical work accurately.
  • Diagnose faults and carry out repairs, adjustments and modifications within your level of competence.
  • Ensure equipment meets the required specifications and customer requirements following calibration and repair.
  • Produce calibration results, reports and certificates for completed work.
  • Assist with maintaining and updating calibration procedures and technical documentation.
  • Maintain accurate equipment records, including manuals, photographs, specifications and other relevant technical information.
  • Respond to system requests, customer queries, approvals and other actions in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Maintain the required level of technical competence and keep appropriate evidence of training and competency.
  • Work independently when required while also contributing effectively as part of the wider technical team.

This is what you'll need:

  • Previous experience in calibration, testing, electrical engineering or a related technical environment.
  • An electrical or technical qualification such as BTEC, ONC, HNC or equivalent experience
  • Good mathematical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
