The CAMH Occupational Therapist
The CAMH Occupational Therapist will work within the intensive treatment community pathway. This is an exciting new development within the team to support young people to remain in the community or to provide consistent support on paediatric wards to support discharge. This role will provide outreach into the young person’s home and to local wards to provide specialist therapeutic support.

Role Overview
The CAMH Occupational Therapist will join the multidisciplinary team in the delivery of clinical assessment and provision of care to young people (0-18) and their families and/or carers within West London CAMHS.
Responsibilities
- Work within the intensive treatment community pathway to support young people to remain in the community or to provide consistent support on paediatric wards to support discharge.
- Provide outreach into the young person’s home and to local wards to provide specialist therapeutic support.
- Support the provision of highly specialist Occupational Therapy services to young people and their families and/or carers referred to CAMHS.
- Provide outreach work to patients who may find it hard to attend clinics and in-reach work into Tier 4 Services.
- Provide a comprehensive Occupational Therapy assessment, utilising standardised and non-standardised assessment and interpret a range of complex clinical findings to develop appropriate treatment plans, intervention, and evaluation of the occupational therapy programme that includes risk assessment.
- Work individually with young people where indicated.
- With supervision and guidance from Senior staff, develop and guide development of meal support within the ED pathway.
- Analyse, grade, and adapt individual and group activities to meet the occupational performance, environmental, and vocational needs of the young person.
- Be responsive to the needs of the young person, within the local setting and use an appropriate range of communication skills to engage service users in the OT process.
- Work independently and on their own initiative, co-ordinating with the Clinical Nurse Specialist, multidisciplinary team, and the Consultant Team Lead as appropriate and recognising when to draw on the resources of other disciplines.
