Job Opportunity in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS)

Are you looking to work in a team that allows you to feel empowered and proud to be a Nurse? To work in an environment that will allow you to develop and flourish as a practitioner? Then the South London and Maudsley CAMHS Inpatient Units might just be what you’re looking for.

We’re passionate about delivering first-class patient-centred, safe and effective care, across our Adolescent Inpatient Units, general and PICU. Patients are at the heart of everything we do. Providing quality care depends on our ability to employ the best people. We’re looking to recruit outstanding people who will go the extra mile to support our patients and colleagues. With every new employee we’re hoping to find our future leaders and we’ll support our staff by providing opportunities to develop - whatever stage of your career you're at; there's always a place for you at SLaM.

Existing CAMHS experience is not essential as you will have the opportunity to learn new specialist skills through our excellent learning and development opportunities which will include leadership and managerial skills alongside clinical interventions. It is important to show through your application and interview, what transferable skills and experience you have.

In addition to this we welcome skilled practitioners who would like the opportunity to develop their CAMHS specific skills. These clinicians may come from a variety of professional backgrounds including adult mental health, learning disability and paediatric settings.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
