£113,565 to £150,569 per annum (pro rata for part-time appointments)

Looking for a consultant role that combines community CAMHS and liaison psychiatry?
Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to join our established and supportive CAMHS service in East Sussex.
This is an excellent opportunity to work across both Community CAMHS and CAMHS Liaison Services, providing specialist assessment, treatment, and clinical leadership for children and young people with a wide range of mental health needs.
Working across community and acute settings, you'll help deliver safe, effective, and compassionate care while contributing to service development and shaping the future of CAMHS provision across East Sussex.
Recruitment & Retention Package
We are offering an enhanced Recruitment & Retention Premium of up to £45,000 over three years (pro rata for part-time appointments):
- £15,000 on appointment
- £10,000 after 12 months
- £10,000 after 24 months
- £10,000 after 36 months
The opportunity
You'll join an experienced multidisciplinary team delivering evidence-based care to children, young people, and families across Hastings and Rother.
Alongside community CAMHS responsibilities, you'll also contribute to the CAMHS Liaison Service, providing specialist assessment and advice for young people presenting with complex mental health needs and higher-risk presentations within the acute hospital setting.

The role offers the opportunity to work alongside Consultant colleagues, Specialist Doctors, and a wider multidisciplinary team including psychologists, social workers, nurses, systemic family therapists, and child psychotherapists.
You'll also benefit from being part of a wider Trust-wide Consultant network, providing opportunities for peer support, clinical collaboration, leadership development, and service improvement.
What you'll be doing
- Delivering specialist psychiatric assessments and treatment for children and young people aged 0 to 18
- Providing clinical leadership across Community CAMHS and Liaison services
- Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary colleagues and partner organisations
- Supporting complex decision-making and risk management
- Contributing to service development, quality improvement, and clinical governance
- Participating in teaching, supervision, and professional development activities
- Helping shape innovative and responsive CAMHS services across East Sussex
About you
We're looking for a Consultant Psychiatrist with expertise in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry who is passionate about improving outcomes for children, young people, and their families.
You will be included on, or within six months of joining, the GMC Specialist Register and be eligible for Approved Clinician status.
