A new CAMHS Day Patient Provision is being launched as an inpatient-avoidance service for children and young people.

It will provide intensive, compassionate, recovery-focused support while helping patients remain connected to home and school. The hybrid model works closely with the CAMHS Inpatient Unit and includes structured therapeutic programmes, multidisciplinary care and psychologically informed community support.

Role Overview

The service is recruiting a Band 5 nurse for the CAMHS Eating Disorder Home Treatment Team, with a link role to the Day Patient provision at Beacon CAMHS inpatient unit. Key duties include meal support in both the service and young people’s homes. The client group may present with emotional-regulation difficulties, trauma histories, ASD, intellectual disability and high-risk behaviours.

Key Duties

  • Working within a multi-disciplinary team to assess the needs of CYP alongside registered Mental Health Nurses, Social Workers, SALT, dietetics, an Occupational Therapist, Psychotherapist, Psychologist and Peer Support.
  • Working with young people and their families/ carers to develop holistic care plans / treatment interventions.
  • Working with other agencies in a collaborative way to manage risk.
  • Working within a team who prioritise compassion, adaptability and creativity.
  • Assessing and responding to risk.
