An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated clinician to join NELFT as the CAMHS Primary Care Lead in Waltham Forest.
This is a key leadership role within our Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), providing both operational and clinical leadership to the Primary Care Team (PCT) GP Care Pathway. You will lead a skilled multidisciplinary team delivering evidence-based mental health interventions for children and young people, ensuring high standards of clinical practice, quality, and patient outcomes.
The successful candidate will be a postgraduate qualified psychological practitioner (such as a Clinical or Counselling Psychologist, Family Therapist, or Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist) or a graduate qualified health professional (such as a Mental Health Nurse, Social Worker or Occupational Therapist), registered with the relevant professional body (HCPC, NMC or Social Work England as appropriate).
Working closely with GP practices, Primary Care Networks (PCNs) and partner agencies across Waltham Forest, you will play a pivotal role in strengthening integrated pathways, improving access to specialist mental health support, and ensuring children, young people and families receive timely, effective and compassionate care.
The Role
As the WF CAMHS PCT GP Lead, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the delivery of mental health services for children and young people in the Waltham Forest area. Working closely with a well-established and supportive team, you will contribute to the development and implementation of high-quality care pathways, ensuring the best possible outcomes for service users.

Essential Skills And Qualifications
- Qualified healthcare professional with relevant experience in mental health services.
- Current registration with an appropriate clinical body.

Starting with NELFT
NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers, and attend a number of drop-in sessions focusing on engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Goodmayes Hospital.

This post will be subject to a probationary period.
High Cost Area Supplement - Outer London
This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £4,870 and a maximum payment of £6,137 per annum, pro rata for part time)
