Job Overview

Due to internal promotion, the CNWL all age mental health Single Point of Access has a vacancy for a CAMHS SPA Band 7 Team manager. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing, creative and innovative service as part of our management team. We are looking for an experienced mental health professional (Nurse, Occupational Therapist, Social Worker or psychological therapist), and it would be a fantastic career progression for a Band 6 clinician who wishes to broaden their experience or a current Band 7 looking for a new challenge.

This dynamic multi-disciplinary service has been running since June 2021, offering a single point of access for mental health tele-triage, signposting, advice and support 24-hours a day, seven days per week, 365 days a year for young people under the age of 18.

The CAMHS SPA Team Manager will work closely with the adult SPA and SHINE Team Managers and with the Clinical Lead for CAMHS SPA to maintain the day to day running of the service, providing senior clinical input and support to the team, playing a key role in building internal and external interfaces, and contributing to the ongoing development of the SPA.

The CAMHS SPA Team Manager will be expected to work a flexible shift pattern, although working nights is not required in this role.

Main duties of the job

Central and North West London NHS Trust is committed to providing safe, effective services and providing patients and families with a positive experience. The CAMHS SPA Team Manager is responsible for the daily running of the SPA (CAMHS) Team and supports the Clinical Lead in the operational management of the service.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Providing management & clinical supervision, coaching, mentoring of existing staff and new staff taking up post; and motivating and supporting individuals to achieve their objectives.
  • Contribute to the provision of training, coaching and clinical group supervision to the wider all-age SPA.
  • Answering calls to the CAMHS SPA in a patient and courteous manner, and to screen and prioritise these appropriately.
  • Undertaking clinical triage of calls to the CAMHS SPA, deciding on the correct care pathway for that call.
  • Referring callers onto CAMHS local teams where appropriate and liaising with teams.
  • Signposting callers on as necessary into non-statutory, third sector services (Thrive networks).
  • Undertaking initial social care triage, and where necessary, signposting and referring on patients as appropriate.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
