Location: Islington, London. We aim to create an environment where everyone can contribute to the best of their abilities. Greenpeace UK
Greenpeace UK is an independent national/regional organisation within the global Greenpeace campaigning network, which acts to change attitudes and behaviour, to protect and conserve the environment and to promote peace. The global network of Greenpeace organisations comprises 26 independent national/regional Greenpeace organisations with presence in over 55 countries across Europe, Africa, the Americas, Asia and the Pacific, as well as a coordinating and supporting organisation, Greenpeace International.
We’re recruiting two campaigner positions; a permanent position in our Biodiversity team, and a 12 month fixed term position in our Climate team.
Climate Campaigner
This is a 12 month fixed term contract as part of our Climate mission, delivering domestic and global campaigns, specifically delivering work to reduce the power of the Populist Right to set the agenda on climate. The core of the role is to manage key projects ranging from political and legal to non-violent direct action and creative communications, and ensuring those outputs are in line with our theory of change. Working alongside a Senior Campaigner and Political Campaigner, you’ll work on rapid response on some of the most urgent and politically charged issues — from oil price shocks and elections to extreme weather — while also contributing to longer term strategies to tackle the populist right and rebuild climate salience with the public.
Biodiversity Campaigner
This is a permanent role, primarily supporting our popular, long running Oceans team. You’ll be working as part of an exciting team to combat the industrial destroyers of our oceans. Primarily working alongside a Senior Campaigner, and including international working with other offices, you’ll be campaigning for the creation of an Atlantic network of oceans sanctuaries teeming with incredible wildlife, and working to combat the threat of the deep sea mining industry. You’ll deliver key projects ranging from political tactics, creative communications and non-violent direct action, ensuring these outputs are in line with our theory of change. The postholder may also work on our new land-based Nature campaign, on a range of tactics aimed at restoring biodiversity and counteracting the power of the agrochemical industry.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Our commitment to diversity
We acknowledge that people from certain backgrounds are under-represented in environmental and campaigning organisations and we’re committed to doing what we can to correct this.
One of our Anti Racism Plan objectives is to proactively achieve stronger representation of people of colour, particularly within leadership positions, and we have recently published ambitious race representation targets.
As part of our commitment to increasing representation of people from underrepresented communities in the environmental sector, we are piloting a Guaranteed Interview Scheme (GIS) as a new approach to make our recruitment more equitable. If you identify as a person of colour, you can choose to opt in to the Guaranteed Interview Scheme.
We will be aiming to offer everyone who opts into the scheme and meets the essential criteria a first stage interview. While we fully intend to honour this, exceptionally high application volumes may affect our capacity. If so, we will communicate clearly and keep candidates informed as we continue to learn and improve.
