Email Loyalty & Enablement Team Product Intern
The Email Loyalty & Enablement team sits at the heart of how we communicate with our customers through email. We bring together channel expertise, product management, new product development and marketing enablement to help deliver effective, trusted and engaging email experiences. Our responsibilities span the full email ecosystem - from protecting email deliverability and sender reputation, to developing new products and capabilities, enabling our internal users, and ensuring marketing and servicing communications meet our brand, accessibility, compliance and governance standards.
The product intern will work on developing their agile skill set; seeing through a project area from start to finish. They will be supported in taking on responsibility for moving an email tech feature through the lifecycle including the stakeholder management, refinement, sprint planning and delivery. The feature will be based on the prioritized initiative at the time which can be matched to the intern project scope and needs. Based on their interest they may be able to support in the discovery, solutioning and publishing of an internal white paper.
RESPONSIBILITIES
As an intern, you’ll gain hands-on experience across email marketing, product development, training, and vendor management. Key responsibilities include:
- Collaborate with third-party vendors and internal partners to support key initiatives and deliverables.
- Help scope and develop new email products and capabilities.
- Research emerging trends, technologies, and innovations in the email marketing space and identify potential opportunities.
- Support email template development and related initiatives; familiarity with HTML is beneficial.
- Support the planning and facilitation of email marketing training sessions.
- Create, update, and maintain product documentation to ensure resources remain accurate, clear, and up to date.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications:
- Must have a graduation date in 2028
- Strong communicator with the ability to convey ideas clearly, effectively, and with empathy.
- Collaborative mindset with an ability to build strong relationships and work effectively across teams.
- Can-do attitude with enthusiasm for digital products, technology, and learning new skills.
- Proactive and curious problem-solver who enjoys exploring ambiguous challenges, asking thoughtful questions, and identifying potential solutions.
- Data-driven and detail-oriented, with an interest in using insights to inform decisions and improve outcomes.
Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the United Kingdom is required as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for these positions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with email marketing and an understanding of end-to-end email journeys across B2B and/or B2C environments.
- Exposure to or experience working within a product development environment.
- Familiarity with HTML and how it is used to build and structure email templates is a plus.
