Global Merchant Services (GMS) Marketing
Global Merchant Services (GMS) Marketing aims to grow American Express acceptance & transaction volumes by deepening our existing relationships with merchants. GMS Marketing is responsible for developing and launching innovative, merchant-led marketing campaigns that aim to capture higher cardmember spend in already-accepting merchants. Examples could include running offers with well-known large merchants, merchant competitions across our small merchant base or ad-hoc campaigns delivered through some of our key partners.
Throughout this internship, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to craft real-life marketing strategies to help expand our diverse Amex network and contribute to the growth of the business. You could be engaging with top creative agencies, driving digital presence, or working on some of our most exciting product portfolios and partnerships trying to bring them to life with your own ideas. All of this will be done using market and consumer data from previous campaigns, evaluating the external landscape, and analyzing internal data to identify trends.
RESPONSIBILITIES
While the final internship project is yet to be finalized, core responsibilities can include:
- Analyze market and consumer data from previous campaigns to identify additional marketing opportunities & develop marketing strategies
- E2E ownership of marketing projects including definition and implementation management, launching marketing campaigns where applicable
- Managing stakeholders across multiple teams with the potential to engage with external merchants/partners/creative agencies
- Design and deliver regular project updates including presentations and data analyses

QUALIFICATIONS
- A passion for customer-facing marketing and customer insight, with an interest in the payments industry
- Ability to manage projects through from start to finish and balance workload across multiple deliverables
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present ideas in a compelling way
- Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders and an effective collaborator that enjoys working as part of a team
- A strategic thinker with the ability to analyze and interpret large amounts of data to identify trends and drive insights
- Ability to overcome challenges and apply skillset to drive results
Knowledge of Microsoft Office with experience in Excel and PowerPoint
