Cancer Performance Lead
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Cancer Performance Lead to support our team across ESNEFT.
In conjunction with the Head of Elective Performance, you will lead the day to day oversight and management of Trust wide cancer pathway performance, providing a clear and accurate understanding of performance against national cancer waiting time standards, including the 28 day faster diagnosis, 31 day treatment and 62 day referral to treatment standards.
- Lead the preparation, interpretation and presentation of cancer performance information for relevant Trust performance and governance forums, ensuring that reporting clearly identifies performance, trends, forecast position, risks, underlying causes and required actions.
- Provide visible operational leadership for cancer performance, working collaboratively with specialty operational teams, clinical teams, Cancer Services, diagnostic services and corporate colleagues to identify and address barriers to timely diagnosis and treatment.
- Maintain effective oversight of patients on cancer pathways, with particular focus on patients at risk of delay or exceeding expected pathway milestones, ensuring appropriate actions are identified, progressed and escalated.
- Lead the development and maintenance of effective cancer performance management processes, ensuring that performance information is translated into operational action rather than solely reported.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
