Role purpose

To provide comprehensive administrative and project support to the Candidates Team, ensuring a seamless candidate experience throughout the recruitment and training process. This role includes managing candidate queries, supporting recruitment and assessment activities, administering training platforms, curating training content, and coordinating candidate training and development events. Additionally, the role involves managing key processes such as the Learning Management System (LMS), candidate activity logs, and call centre operations, as well as handling diary management for the Head of Candidates and onboarding Assessors and Moderators.

Role responsibilities

  • Act as the first point of contact for Candidate queries, driving a positive candidate experience.

  • Provide administrative support, including drafting briefing documents and arranging meetings.
  • Assist with recruitment and selection administration, including managing applications, report writing and supporting assessment centres.
  • Support the Candidates Team with a variety of projects.
  • Manage the training platform and ensure content is kept up to date.
  • Curate new training content and courses.
  • Manage the administration and coordination of candidate training and development events.
  • Manage the LMS pathways for assessors, candidates and selected candidates.
  • Maintain activity log data and produce briefings.
  • Organise and support the delivery of the candidate call centre.
  • Manage the candidate training and development inbox.
  • Manage diaries and appointments for candidate debriefs.
  • Manage the diary of the Head of Candidates.
  • Support assessor onboarding, including maintaining the master assessor database and organising webinars and one-to-one meetings.
  • Administer candidate subscription payments.

Professional experience and qualifications

  • Strong organisational and administrative skills.
  • An ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality and sensitivity.
  • Confidence in verbal and written communication alongside good interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Good team player, and able to work autonomously.
  • Enthusiastic, keen to learn and flexible in approach.
  • Able to take ownership for fulfilling tasks and meeting deadlines
  • Sympathetic to the aims and values of the Conservative Party
  • A personable and helpful telephone manner
  • Good IT skills including the effective use of all MS Office Software
  • Resilient and able to remain calm under pressure.
