Editor & Partnerships Manager

We're looking for an organised, proactive, team player to join Canelo, as an Editor & Partnerships Manager. This is an exciting time in our publishing journey, so if you are looking to be a part of a team that brings stories to life for readers around the world, keep reading…

You will be part of a creative and collaborative team and significantly contribute to making bestsellers on the list, working closely with authors, designers, and production teams on a variety of exciting projects. Whilst there are opportunities to demonstrate your editorial flair, a large part of this role’s focus is on partnering with our established print-only authors (primarily in Commercial Fiction including Crime, Thriller, and Romance) to create their books from existing ebook manuscripts. You will be their first point of contact and will guide the works through the book-making process, from cover conception through to publication and be involved in their publishing strategy.

This role will best suit someone who loves to keep organised, as you will need to be confident in managing multiple projects simultaneously and meeting strict deadlines. You will need to be resourceful and solution-focused, and able to identify potential issues in projects before they occur. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential to this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Write compelling and market-ready cover and sales copy for each title
  • Brief and manage/review freelancers on relevant projects, including proofreads
  • Maintain strong relationships with key external stakeholders, such as authors and agents, to facilitate smooth project execution
  • Nurture existing relationships within DK to ensure editions are sent to press on time and deadlines for materials are met
  • Update Biblio and other internal systems to ensure accurate metadata is maintained
  • Engage with interdepartmental pitching, metadata optimisation, and our campaigns team to help ensure successful publication launches.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
